This is a reminder – or possibly your first notice – that we would like your entry (or entries) for the Leith Anthology by the end of July.
Whether you’ve nearly finished it, with just the final tweaks to get right, or you’ve been putting ideas to steep in your fine mind and you still have to put pen to paper, I hope you will come up with something. I’m attaching the invitation, as a reminder of what we’re looking for.
Plans are going ahead to form a selection panel and some form of publication. We want to have it ready by November, which will be the centenary of the coming into force of the Edinburgh Extension Act, when Leith was amalgamated into Edinburgh. There will be some civic ceremonies.
Text entry (entries) should be in a Word doc and illustrations in PDF.
Please send to me in two forms: (by email to: mail@leithwalks.co.uk)
- Your text or illustration, with heading/title.
- Your text or illustration, with heading/title PLUS this statement: I (author/creator) of the text/illustration titled (title of text/illustration submitted) give permission to publish this work in the forthcoming Leith Anthology 2020. (Name, date).
- If your work has been previously published, please take note of the requirement in paragraph 5 under the heading CRITERIA in the invitation.
This is so that I can send the anonymous copy to the panel and keep track of ownership and permissions.
Please pass this on to anyone you know of who may be submitting something. I have encouraged you to forward the invitation, so I don’t know how far it has gone. We are ambitious for this project.
With very best wishes for a safe and creative July.
Tim Bell
